The Associated Press (AP) is an American non-profit news agency headquartered in New York City. Founded in 1846, it operates as a cooperative, unincorporated association. It produces news reports that are distributed to its members, U.S. newspapers and broadcasters. The AP has earned 56 Pulitzer Prizes, including 34 for photography, since the award was established in 1917.   Many newspapers and broadcasters outside the United States are AP subscribers, paying a fee to use AP material without being contributing members of the cooperative. 

Reuters is one of the largest news agencies in the world.  Owned by Thomson Reuters Corporation, Reuters employs some 2,500 journalists and 600 photojournalists in about 200 locations worldwide. Reuters journalists use the Standards and Values as a guide for fair presentation and disclosure of relevant interests, to "maintain the values of integrity and freedom upon which their reputation for reliability, accuracy, speed and exclusivity relies".

The New York Times (the Times, NYT) is an American daily newspaper based in New York City.  The Times is internationally renowned for investigative journalism and broad-ranging editorials and opinions. 

The Times has won 132 Pulitzer Prizes, the most of any newspaper, and has long been regarded as a national "newspaper of record".

The Washington Post (also known as the Post) is an American daily newspaper published in Washington, D.C. It is the most widely circulated newspaper within the Washington metropolitan area and has a large national and international audience. The Post has won the Pulitzer Prize 65 times for its work, the second-most after The New York Times). It is considered a newspaper of record in the U.S.

The Guardian is a British daily newspaper, founded in 1821 Along with its sister papers The Observer and The Guardian Weekly, The Guardian is part of the Guardian Media Group, owned by the Scott Trust. The trust was created in 1936 to "secure the financial and editorial independence of The Guardian in perpetuity and to safeguard the journalistic freedom and liberal values of The Guardian free from commercial or political interference".Profits are reinvested in journalism rather than distributed to owners or shareholders. It is considered a newspaper of record in the UK.

The Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) is an American public broadcaster and non-commercial, free-to-air television network based in Arlington, Virginia. PBS is a publicly funded nonprofit organization and the most prominent provider of educational programming to public television stations in the United States, distributing shows such as Frontline, Nova, PBS NewsHour, Sesame Street, and This Old House As of 2020, PBS has nearly 350 member stations around the United States.

NBC News is the news division of the American broadcast television network NBC.  The division presides over America's number-one-rated newscast,[4] NBC Nightly News, the world's first of its genre morning television program, Today, and the longest-running television series in American history, Meet the Press, the Sunday morning program of newsmakers interviews. The NBCUniversal News Group also comprises MSNBC, the network's 24-hour general news channel, business and consumer news channels CNBC and CNBC World

MSNBC has a bias towards liberal politics  and regards itself as the antithesis of Fox News.  "The primary distinction between MSNBC and Fox News is not left bias vs. right bias, but rather that much of the content on Fox News, especially during its primetime programs, is not based in truth." The Hill is an American newspaper and digital media company based in Washington, D.C. that was founded in 1994.

Focusing on politics, policy, business and international relations, The Hill's coverage includes the U.S. Congress, the presidency and executive branch, and election campaigns. The Hill describes its output as "nonpartisan reporting on the inner workings of Government and the nexus of politics and business". The company's primary outlet is TheHill.com. 

PBS and WNET, in collaboration with CNN, launched the new one-hour late-night public affairs series Amanpour and Company on Monday, September 10 on PBS (check local listings).

The new series features wide-ranging, in-depth conversations with global thought leaders and cultural influencers on the issues and trends impacting the world each day, from politics, business and technology to arts, science and sports.  Christiane Amanpour leads the conversation on global and domestic news from London with contributions by prominent journalists Walter Isaacson, Michel Martin and Hari Sreenivasan from the Tisch WNET Studios at Lincoln Center in New York City

The coronavirus was “deadly,” he had told Woodward, on February 7th, “more deadly than even your strenuous flus.” As we now all know, Trump then spent the next month publicly downplaying the danger, telling Americans the exact opposite of what he had privately confided to Woodward.
